
Singapore companies might open, possibly 3 shipyards in Brazil to build EP platforms. The Executive Anchit Sood- Director of International Enterprise Singapore (IE) for Americas- a public body to incentive the internationalization of companies, he confirms that there is an interest in set up ventures in Brazil to meet the Petrobras demand to Oil Exploration from pre-salt. Jurong Shipyard, on its turn, is the sole owner of Jurong Shipyard, based in Aracruz (ES), and it has strategic joint ventures and agreements with Mac Laren Shipyard, in Rio de Janeiro. According to Sood, 40% of Singapore companies business supported by the local government, are wrapped into oil and gas somehow. The executive highlights the policy of “Local Content”, created by the Brazilian ANP- Oil and Gas and bio-fuels Federal Agency, it was created to pull up the development industry and Brazilian companies of technology and such measures are benefic to Singapore.
